The Greatest Work Ever Finished
Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe | May 15, 1977Selected highlights from this sermon
Have you ever wanted to devote yourself to something that will last? Then build your future on the work that Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross.
All of the works in the Bible, beginning back in Genesis 3, are pointing toward the work of the cross. And all works since the cross are built on that finished work. When you build your life on the finished work of Jesus Christ, it stands firm.
Transcripts for Dr. Wiersbe's sermons are forthcoming. Below is an outline of his message.
Have you ever wanted to devote yourself to something that will last?
You can. You can build your future on the work that Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross.
Characteristics of the work of Jesus:
- It is the work of God.
- Everyone is involved in works.
- All of the works in the Bible are pointing toward the work of the cross, and all works since then are built on that finished work.
- Our works are meaningless apart from God.
- God began the work of the cross back in Genesis 3.
- Are you doing the work that God has given you to do?
- It is a work of grace.
- The priest, law, and sacrifices made nothing perfect.
- Grace means Jesus paid it all; His work is finished.
- Salvation is a work of grace.
- When you build your life on the finished work of Jesus Christ, it stands firm.
- It is a work of glory.
- We should stand awe struck by this tremendous truth.
- Who else would be willing to leave glory and be demoted and crucified?
- Everything that man does is short of the glory of God
- There is glory in salvation.
- Our responsibility is to glorify God.
The only work on Earth that God sees is the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
Build your life on the one work that God accepts.
