Jesus didn’t first appear in Bethlehem. He has always been in existence. But in the pages of the Scriptures, He first appeared as the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament. And just as Jesus did in the New Testament, the Angel of the Lord interceded, comforted, and delivered His people.

But in order to purchase our salvation, Jesus had to become human, and that’s why the incarnation is central to the Christian message.
