The Kaiser Said, “Let There Be Darkness”
“So they cast him out of the vineyard.” —Luke 20:15 I suppose that the time has come when most men refuse to say there is no God. Men have gotten far enough in science to know that there is a God. They realize that there is an intelligence running the world, although they do not want to admit that intelligence is the God of the Bible. Now if there is a God, then it is surely true of that God that He is able to enlighten that which He creates. Certainly the sun that brings forth the lily in your … Read More >

The Promise Fulfilled
“Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her. And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father. And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John. And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. And they made signs to … Read More >

The End!
“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it (the end) is near, even at the doors.”—Matthew 24:33 I do not want to give you men’s words to start with, but God’s Word on this subject. If we make any deduction, if we draw any conclusion, we have no right to start with anything as a premise but the Word of God, Who alone holds the future in His hand. Man has been calling himself splendid names because he has been able to preserve something of the past. He points to the pyramids, swells his chest … Read More >

Grounds For Confidence
“Lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!”—Isaiah 40:9 We are commencing a series of messages taken from the closing section of the prophecy of Isaiah under the general title “Faith for the Times.” Most of you will know that this prophecy is given in three sections. The first is in chapters 1 to 35 and is prophetic, the theme being one of condemnation; the second section is from chapters 36 to 39 and is historic, the theme being confiscation; and the third section is from … Read More >

The Signs Of The Times—Part 1
Second chapter of Matthew, first verse. “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.” The wise men sought Him; the wise men are seeking Him today. When I was a young fellow out in Wyoming we had a good many wiseacres out there in the little town where I lived. Some of you have heard me … Read More >

Fundamental Or Instrumental?
Where the ordinary man speaks of “the end of the world,” the Bible knows no such phrase. There never will be an end of the world as far as the Scriptures are concerned. God divides time up into ages, periods where He is testing men out under a certain kind of revealed truth. We are not tested today by what Moses said to the Jews, but we are tested by what Christ Jesus has spoken. The Holy Ghost in our age is convincing the world of sin “Because they believe not on Him.” We are judged, in this our day, … Read More >

Seven-Fold Purpose Of Christ’s Second Coming
My text is found in Romans 12:12, where the Word of God reads as follows: “Rejoicing in hope.” Some dear folks say we have no commandments for the church. We have New Testament commandments, any number of them, even in Romans 12. This is one of them: “Rejoice in hope.” The Lord does not say, “Rejoice in faith; rejoice in peace; rejoice in love.” But He does say, “Rejoice in hope.” Hope is a thing that can thrill our hearts as nothing else can do. Hope is pointing us not to a good thing in the future, but to a … Read More >

The H-Bomb And The Battle Of Armageddon
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:25–28). Our … Read More >

God's Plan For World Conquest
Sermon preached on Sunday, September 23, 1962 by Dr. Alan Redpath. Last month we saw that two world wars in this twentieth century began, in the judgment of all who were living at that particular time, by ushering in what was going to be the golden age. But those two world wars that have taken place have prepared the way in a most amazing way for the fulfillment of prophecy in two specific areas. In the first place World War I released Palestine from the dominion of the Turk, and opened the way for the return of Israel, an event … Read More >

The Signs Of The Times—Part 2
This is part 2 of a two-part article. Part 1 can be found here. The Time is Upon Us In God’s name, let the star shine out to the wise men and see why these awful times are upon us! These are the days of His preparation—Jesus Christ is coming to judge the earth. It is not my business to scare you, but if I am an honest man and have found these things in the Book, I am a poor low cur unless I tell you about it. I am not asking people to follow me on some kind … Read More >
