As you probably already know, Lois Evans, wife of Tony Evans, passed into heaven on Monday morning, December 30. In Tony’s words, “Just before the sun came up this morning, the love of my life, Lois Irene Evans, transitioned from earth and watched her first sunrise from heaven.”
Anyone who knew this couple was very much aware of how much they loved each other. Tony honored Lois with respect and admiration. Whether sitting together at a table or engaged in conversation with others, these two modeled the beautiful relationship of Christ and His Church.
As we conclude our study on the attributes of God, think about this: the God who created the stars and inhabits eternity is concerned with your wounds and healing. This truth should bring us to our knees in praise!
"He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure." - Psalm 147:4–5
Pastor Lutzer wants to encourage you to walk into the new year, placing your hand in the hand of the omnipotent God.
Transcript:Hi, this is Pastor Lutzer. Welcome to 2020! You and I have no idea what the future holds. We know that we're going to be hearing a lot of news this year—politically, morally, spiritually. We have no idea what God has in mind for this nation, but nor do we understand what God may have in mind for us as individuals. So I want to give you a word of encouragement as we step into the unknown. Come with me …
This Christmas, let's rejoice with others as if their joy was our own! Merry Christmas!
Transcript:Hi, this is Pastor Lutzer wishing you a very blessed Christmas. Well, did you see that Amazon actually has published the Christmas story? And apparently it is word for word out of the Bible. The problem is, it occurs in their fiction section. Well, you and I know that Christmas is not fiction. God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself. And you know many people disbelieve the Christmas story because of the stories of the angels. I wanna give a shout out to the angels. For …
The best is yet to come. Do you believe that through God's unsearchable riches, you can overcome?
"To preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things." - Ephesians 3:8b–9
Have you ever realized that God doesn't think like you? His ways are different than our ways and His thoughts are different than our thoughts, and this truth should lead us to worship.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:8–9
We should stand in the presence of the unsearchable God with much reverence. But at the same time, we can leave things in His hands with much confidence in His trustworthiness.
"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable." - Isaiah 40:28
Despite the mystery and the unanswered questions, God is worthy of our trust. Do you believe He will finish what He begun—to take you all the way to the finish line and beyond?
"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all." - 1 Chronicles 29:11
Where is God amidst storms, disasters, and catastrophes? If God is all-powerful then why do these tragic events occur?
"The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet." - Nahum 1:3
