By the way, the fact that we believe that Satan took a third of the angels with him is based on Revelation 12, where it says that the dragon’s tail drew a third of the stars. Because stars are sometimes referred to as angels, and because this passage seems to be a historical reference, we believe that it was ages ago when Satan rebelled and took a third of the angels with him.
But in answer to your question, these are demons who decided to side with Lucifer in his rebellion, and of course, they’re going to pay the consequences of their disobedience throughout all of eternity.
