Jesus: God's Only Savior For The World!

Christmas—gifts, family, and yes, of course, Jesus!
We know the baby in the manger grew to become a man, died for our sins, was raised from the dead, and ascended into heaven. However, at Christmastime especially we hear it said, “Jesus came to redeem the whole world!” But as all of us know, the whole world is not redeemed. In fact, when speaking to the shepherds, the angels themselves affirmed “peace among those with whom he is pleased” (Luke 2:14). Not all people benefit from the coming of Christ; His gifts of forgiveness and reconciliation have to be received by those who hear the Good News. Tragically, millions today have not even heard about His coming to redeem us.
It is popular to insist Jesus was the religious leader of the Western world while men like Buddha, Baháʼu'lláh, and Muhammad are the religious leaders of the Eastern world. That’s what I heard at The Parliament of the World’s Religions that met in Chicago back in 1993. Jesus was put on the shelf alongside the other religious teachers—He was honored but not worshiped; He was presented as a teacher but not a Savior.
Let me be clear: To equate Jesus with other religious leaders is to insult Him; it is to misunderstand the purpose of His coming and to demean Him. Stripped of His deity, stripped of His exclusive claim to be “the way, and the truth, and life” (John 14:6), we have a mere man who can only tell us how to live better, but unable to save us from our sins.
We at Moody Church Media boldly proclaim that Jesus stands apart from all the other leaders in the world. He alone is God in the flesh—He is a Savior. He not only exposes our sin, but forgives it. He doesn’t just give us good advice, He gives us His hand that we might be rescued from ourselves, from the devil, and even from death. He is the only One who points the way to God and takes us into the Father’s presence.
We believe Jesus must be presented to the whole world. Indeed, “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2). And the Gospel must be proclaimed because, “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). Our passion is to make the Gospel available to as many as possible.
